Location is splendid no doubt. However, charges for cottage is Rs.5000/- per night. At that cost a bit more like electric kettle, room freshners, a lounge is expected. Food menu is also limited. Therefore, can give 4 stars to this property. Several other private properties are available at much competitive price.

What looks like a heavenly abode in winters with Himalayas glistening right in front of you, seems fairly average in summers. Wish the cottages were better oriented and raised a bit higher, to have a better view of the Himalayas. I opted to stay in the main building which is a work of art and grandeur, but needs some TLC. Worst part, the "Titanic" hotel (as named by the locals!) obstructing the view from the KMVN. People who built or approved such an eyesore amidst beautiful hills, must be fined! Having said all this, highly recommend the place for service, politeness of the staff, and superb quality of food.

Good place to stay. There are rooms and cottage. There is a watchtower to view the scenic beauty. You can get sunrise and sunset view from here. There is a big lawn with seating available. You can enjoy your tea here with great view. Geyser is available here. Room, service, food can be better. Dinner and Breakfast are complementary here.

Visited just for lunch but must have visited the place. You may get complete View of Panch chuli, Nandadevi and Trishul mountain range from here...

KMVN tourist rest houses or TRH are very uniquely located. As it's govt run property they have the best of locations. And Chaukari TRH is no exception. If you get a room with great view of the beautiful valley you are all set for an idyllic holiday. Rooms are spacious and well kept . Staff is also courteous and helpful. The restaurant serves delicious meals though there should be more variety in the menu. Sunrise from the lawn and the tower is simply breathtaking . Don't miss it at any cost!! It's best for an one day stop on the way back from another jewel in the crown of Uttarakhand, Munshiary!

5 star for the location which have amazing views of the Himalayan snow peaks. Nanda Devi, Nandakot, Panchachauli are visible from here. The rooms are not well maintained and also food is not that tasty, hence giving 4 stars.
